Year Two have had a fantastic first day! 

We have had lots of fun creating summer holiday snapshots and playing games to get to to know each other by exploring the connections we have in common that make us a classroom family. We had so many connections that we had a huge spider's web!

We then came up with our class rules together by the children drawing what they thought would make a happy classroom where they can all thrive. 

We then explored the children's dreams and goals for the year and wrote these down on golden stars to go on our Year Two display. The children also made beautiful birthday cards for each other so that we can celebrate everyone's birthday throughout the year. We definitely have some super artists in Year Two!

In the afternoon, Year Two were introduced to their first history unit: The Great Fire of London. We explored what London looked like in 1666 compared to in 2022 by looking at a range of pictures.

The children then created their own houses in the style of those from 1666 with black and white card. Some children even challenged themselves to make some of the trickier patterns that they could see.

All in all Year Two have had a super day and we are all excited for tomorrow!
