Today in art we explored different cubist artists such as Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. We looked at how cubism focuses on showing things as they really are, not just to show what they look like. Cubists felt that they could give the viewer a more accurate understanding of an object, landscape or person by showing it from different angles or viewpoints, so they used flat geometric shapes to represent the different sides and angles of the objects.
We recreated cubist still life drawings but looking at objects from different perspectives and drawing them in cubist style.
