About Friends of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Friends of Our Lady of Mount Carmel are a group of Parents and Staff who work together on fundraising to provide support to our school for the ‘extras’ needed that the school do not have the funds for.

As a group we meet up to discuss and plan events such as school fairs and discos.  We share ideas to make events enjoyable for our school community whilst raising funds at the same time.  

At our meetings we also discuss how the funds should be spent, by reviewing any requests we may have received and deciding what would be of most benefit to our children. We rely on the support of parents, carers and the community to make the events a success which is why we will ask for donations for the fair stalls, raffle ticket sales and, of course for as many people to attend these events as possible!

All are welcome to our meetings, it’s great to see new faces and to get as many people involved as possible.  There is no pressure, our meetings are friendly and informal so why not come and join us at the next one?  Meeting dates will in future be posted on the site as meetings are confirmed.

Parent Forum 

The objective of our parent forum is to facilitate positive and effective two way communication between parents/carers and the school, providing a channel for communication, feedback and suggestions for improvement in a mutually supportive environment.

Specifically to:

  • Promote the partnership between school staff, pupils and parents/carers.
  • Develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils.
  • Identify and represent the views of the parents/carers on matter affecting the education and welfare of the pupils.

Although two parents from each year group will be appointed as members of the forum all parents/carers are invited to attend meetings. Meetings will be held every half term.
