Thank you to everybody who was able to make it to our family assembly. We shared some prayers in a prayer service. The children took part in a Christmas crafts activity. It was a great time to gather together just before Christmas.
We have been practising writing our numbers 1-10 and even up to 20. We went outside in the sunshine with a piece of chalk. Our playground is full of magical numbers.
We have been learning the vocabulary of position e.g. next to, under, beside, on top etc. We had lots of fun placing objects according to different instructions.
Today, a parcel arrived in year 4, it travelled from one group of children to the next, what they didn't know was that it contained the plague!
Year 4 have been learning about The Black Death as part of their history topic and today they learnt which countries the plague travelled through to reach England.

On Friday Year 6 made spoon puppets. They have been working together to put on a puppet show to perform to some children in school, and have carefully designed each puppet for their show.
Today in Year 6 we have been studying blood. We have learnt about what blood is made up of and the jobs of each part. As part of this we have made our own man-made blood using raspberries, marshmallows, sprinkles and juice.
Year 2 used dance to express the meaning of 'Christ, Be Our Light'. We discussed the lyrics and their meaning to create the movements.

We placed 3 chocolate eggs in aluminium 'boats' and placed the boats in water of different temperatures. 5 degrees, 40 degrees and 50 degrees. Can you predict which egg melted most quickly? And more importantly can you explain why.
