This week year 1 children planted sunflower seeds. They whispered to their seed before planting it telling them how much they love them, how they will water them each day and how they promise to look after them to help them grow. The children also explored and made mud pies!!

Year 1 took tape measures out into the forest last week to see if they could guess the age of our trees. They measured the circumference of the tree in inches which gave us an estimation of it's age. Our children found trees that were roughly 40, 48 and 59 years old!!
This week in the forest reception children took control, instead of the planting we had planned they enjoyed exploring the forest, finding signs of new life, building dens and learning how to tie knots.
Nursery are learning the chorus to A Thousand Years in Makaton Sign Language. We will be singing and signing together as a whole school. Please can you practise at home. Thank you!

Our reception children found lots of signs of new life today out in the forest and found something buried....... We opened it and it was a bunch of letters, we worked together and it read ALLELUIA!! The children shared their findings with each class showing and shouting ALLELUIA to all....
