Year one had a great time out in the forest this week. They found a pack of tree dogs!!! The children took the tree dogs for a walk and made them dinner. Our children also looked for spiders, found our newly planted tree, climbed trees, made a boat and sailed to a desert island.
Today, for the skill of map reading the plaground and field was split into coordinates. The children had to use the map to write the coordinates of each area of the school premises. Year one enjoyed using the spades, rakes and brushes out in the forest today. The children dug over the soil and raked away all the stones and sticks ready for our flowers to be put in. They also enjoyed exploring all the changes to the forest that have happened since their last session.
The children in year one came together in the forest today to celebrate their last session until they return to school in September as year two. The children created their favourite activities from their previous sessions and enjoyed pizza made on the Fire.
