The space projects look amazing, it is going to be very hard to judge this week. Thank you so much for helping your children to create these amazing projects ready for our new topic. Take a look for yourselves.
Today in science we have been learning about the difference between dissolving and melting.
We experimented whether different materials are soluble or insoluble in water and recorded our results. Next we discussed possible variables that may affect dissolving and worked as a group choosing an independent variable and dependent variable to investigate and carried out our own experiments.
This week Year 5 have been investigating different materials and were given the task of testing how well a material conducted electricity to light up a bulb.
They discovered that a coin made the bulb shine the brightest.
This morning we began our eyewitness accounts of when Mount Vesuvius erupted. We looked at the structure of our accounts using ' Boxing clever'.

They also visited the planetarium, the aquarium, the natural history room, bug house and dinosaur exhibit. The children had a fantastic day. Photographs are available on the Year 6 Blog.
