Today, our fabulous GIFT Team lead a Scriptural Rosary for our children and their families, as part of their Lenten preparation. We recited the "Crowning with Thorns "Mystery.
We will be here next Friday at 8.30am. Please come along if you can. If not, then send us an intention and we will pray for you.
Year 2 and Reception gathered for our class worship today. We looked at how Jesus showed his love for us when he died on the cross. Children from Year 2 worked with children from Reception to find reasons why Jesus loves us.
In Year 3 we read Mark's Gospel that tells us about the events leading upto Jesus arrest. The class discussed the point of view of the different people such as Peter and thought about how they felt at what had happened to Jesus.
Today the GIFT Team (with newly appointed members) worked with Year 1 to tell the " Way of the Cross." This is a special prayer that reminds us of the events from Holy Week up to the Resurrection.
We had some special helpers too - St Paul, Our Lady and St Lawrence.
Nursery have been learning about Good Friday and why we celebrate Easter. We looked at pictures of the cross and talked about how Jesus died because he loved us. We each took a turn in placing a flower around the cross in the middle of our circle. We listened to some calming music and said a prayer to Jesus...
In Year 3 we have been learning about Lent and how it is a time of preparation fro Easter. The children have spent time today thinking about how they can pray, fast or give alms. The children set up the altar and they wrote their Lenten promise.
Our focus for Caritas in Action this term is to look at how we can build together a community of peace. We explained what peace means to us and how we can make our world a peaceful place.

One of our wonderful pupils in Year 3 is having her long locks cut off for charity! It is such a kind and thoughtful thing to do! we are super proud of her. Here she is before she has her hair cut today! Look out tomorrow for the "after" photo.
Here is the after picture!
Our new topic for Caritas is: Exploring our responsibilities for each other. We discussed whether we DID have a responsibility and read the story of Cain and Abel. WE then looked in the bible for evidence that Jesus commanded that we 'Love One Another'.
Each Kagan group then looked up a specific passage.
