The children came and sat in the Peace Garden and retold the story of Pentecost. Then they sat silently and listened to the sounds around them and felt the breeze. After that they wrote a prayer on a dove and it was hung on the fence.
As well as the statue in the Peace Garden, the GIFT Team have also prepared some displays. Here are some of the children cutting out daisies.

As it is the 1st of May some girls from our GIFT Team prepared a crown, flowers and materials for the statue of Mary in our Peace Garden.
Year 1 and Year 2 were invited to join a procession to the statue and sing the hymns "Bring Flowers of the Rarest" and "Ave Maria Gratia Plena"
Today Year 3 read from St John's Gospel about Jesus washing the feet of the disciples at the Last Supper. We discussed how this linked back to the feast of Christ the King when we learned about Jesus being a different kind of King - a Servant King. As part of their preparation to create 2D shapes using Scratch, the children worked in pairs to find out how many repeats and turns they would need to make various shapes. They had to put their multiplication knowledge to the test. Well done Year 3.
Today the children used evidence to find out about the beliefs of the people of the Shang Dynasty. They had a whole class discussion , then they used other evidence to create a poster about what the people of the Shang Dynasty believed.
In Year 3 we have been learning about the Offertory that takes place at Mass. We learned that it is part of the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
We also acted out the procession and discussed why we did certain things.
Today Year 3 completed a sponsored silence to raise money for CAFOD as part of our Lenten observance. The children are very proud of themselves!

Today the children researched the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary. We discussed how it links to the events in Scripture about Jesus journey to the cross in Holy Week.
The children used the Bibles to research the different mysteries and then they presented their findings to the class.
