We celebrated Candlemas today. Members of our GIFT team read from the bible and then each teacher was given a candle to place on their class altar. The candle's are being taken to church tonight to be blessed by Father Simon.
On Monday 29th January, Say2Productions came to school to perform A Midsummer Night's Dream for all the junior classes. On Wednesday 24th January, 18 of our best athletes represented Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the indoor athletics heats held at Denton Community College.
Our team did really well, being pipped to the post by two points only by Gresswell school who for the last three years have represented Tameside at the Greater Manchester Youth Games.

On Wednesday, our team entered the Catholic Schools Rugby competition. We won all 3 of our heats and went into the semi finals, it was a close match but the final score was 3:1 which ensured our place in the final. Unfortunately we were defeated by St Christopher's who won by one try.
