Our first science club attracted great interest from boys and girls from years 3 to 6.
We are using the polar explorer resources and today's task was to construct a sea-worthy vessel. The lump of plasticine had to be made to float and carry cargo.
The challenge was to investigate how many dried peas your vessel could carry without sinking.
As part of our history topic, we have been learning how the plague spread to Eyam, so today, we paid a visit to the village.

A tournament was planned to be held at Our Lady's on Thursday 26th April. Unfortunately 2 teams had to pull out which means St Stephen's and Our Lady's are through to the final next week.

Today we welcomed Beth Tweddle into our school.
Beth explained to our children why exercise is so important - to build strong bones and help us stay fit but most importantly to have fun.

Today, a parcel arrived in year 4, it travelled from one group of children to the next, what they didn't know was that it contained the plague!

We placed 3 chocolate eggs in aluminium 'boats' and placed the boats in water of different temperatures. 5 degrees, 40 degrees and 50 degrees. Can you predict which egg melted most quickly? And more importantly can you explain why.
In PHSE this week, we have been discussing our dreams for the future. We have aspiring midwives, teachers and doctors.

Year 4 have produced beautiful works of art with the theme of spring blossoms - we are wishing away the snow. These are for sale in year 4 for the very reasonable price of £2.50, this money will go straight to CAFOD. Thank you to all parents who bought their child's work at parents evening.
