Antony Gormley has used the human form in many of his sculptures. The field of the British Isles features hundreds of small clay figures grouped together for maximum impact. In class on Friday, each child was given an amount of clay to make their own figure.
They started by making a cylinder shape and moulding a head.
They then gave their figure ‘eyes’.
We grouped them together to make a ‘field of year 4’.
The children were very proud of their results.
