We told the story of Pentecost in our own words through drama. Listening to the story of Mother Teresa we had to choose some of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and explain how we too could lead better lives by helping others.
In religion the children reflected on the wonder of Creation and how what we do to the planet affects all living things.
They read quotes from Scripture and watched a video of St Francis's Canticle of the Sun. In their books they wrote their own prayer praising God for Creation.

As part of our work on Judaism , we talked about families and how they are important to us. We learnt about Abraham and Moses who are important people in the family story of Jewish people.

Year 1 have been learning that one object can be represented by another. For example, one elephant can be represented by one cube or counter. They worked in Pirate Pal groups to find as many different ways as they could to represent given objects.
In RE this morning, we reflected on Gods creation and the world that we live in. We reflected on the horrific disasters that are beyond our control like Hurricane Irma, but also the small differences we can change to make the world we all live in a better place.
On Monday 11th September we had a visitor from CAFOD called Mr Crosby. He explained what CAFOD was and spoke to all the children about the Power to Be scheme which is helping to provide towns and villages with electricity using solar energy. He showed us the positive effects it had on the people's lives.
